Stream of Passion in 2012 in Zuid-Amerika

Na elf jaar houdt Stream of Passion het voor gezien. “All good things come to an end”, legt de band op Facebook uit. “Het is tijd om verder te gaan en op zoek naar nieuwe muzikale uitdagingen.” De symfonische metalband werd in 2005 opgericht door Nederlands progprominent Arjen Lucassen en de Mexicaanse zangeres Marcela Bovio. De band bracht vier studioplaten en één live-album uit.

Stream of Passion doet in augustus en september nog wel twee afscheidsshows in Nederland en neemt bij de laatste, in P60 te Amstelveen, ook een dvd op. Daarna volgen nog een show op ProgPower USA en een viervoudige UK-tour.

Never Mind The Hype interviewde zangeres Marcela Bovio en bassist Johan van Stratum nog op Buma Rocks. Een gesprek waarin het ging over de plannen, de nu afgesloten The Gentle Storm tour met Anneke van Giersbergen, producer Joost van den Broek, Latijns Amerika en crowdfunding. Dear friends and fans,

Over the past eleven years we’ve had the time of our lives playing in stages all over the world and sharing moments of joy on stage. But all good things come to an end, and we feel it’s time to move on and search for new musical challenges. We’re proud of everything we’ve achieved, with your help, and we want to end the band history on a high note instead of losing focus, interest and drive.

Before parting ways as a band we will perform a few goodbye shows; we also want to record a DVD to serve as a memento of the good times we’ve had. Dates are as follows:

We’re also looking into adding an extra, final show towards the end of the year; more details to follow.
