Big Jesus heeft na de dikke shoegaze noise van hun eerste track “SP” vandaag hun nieuwste telg “Felt In Reverse” online gezet. Het is het tweede nummer van het nog te verschijnen debuutalbum Oneiric.
Het viertal uit Atlanta combineert naar eigen zeggen “loud and heavy fuzz-laden tones with soft, pop-melodic vocals” en dat is goed te horen op “Felt In Reverse”. Gitarist C.J. Ridings zegt dat de track wat apart tot stand kwam: “Felt in Reverse was the last song we completed for the album. It was the only one for which we didn’t come to the studio already prepared with lyrics and melodies. It was just a skeleton of a song. We did a lot of writing during pre production and actually didn’t finish lyrics until the last night possible because I was having a lot of trouble coming up with what I wanted the song to be about. The lyrics ended up being a mash of things we had previously written for songs that we didn’t use and some lines Spencer wrote in our hotel room to fill in the gaps. As for what it’s about, we’re always inclined to let the listener decide and allow them to make it personal for themselves..”

Big Jesus’ debuutalbum Oneiric komt op 30 september uit, en is geproduceerd door Matt Hyde (o.a. bekend van Deftones, Slayer en Monster Magnet). Nu al een liefhebber? Dan hoef je niet lang te wachten, de band staat op 21 augustus in TivoliVredenburg als support van Good Charlotte!
En dat is niet alles: Je kunt ook nog eens een hele fraaie blauwe flexdisc van de eerste single ‘SP’ winnen! Je hoeft daarvoor alleen maar een mail te sturen naar contact@nmth.nl en te motiveren waarom jij Big Jesus zo’n flexe band vindt.
